How Ozone air purifiers work?
An ozone air purifier includes an electric apparatus that charge Oxygen molecules converting them in ozone molecules. Ozone is a very reactive element that purifies the air by oxidizing the allergens and pollutant it gets in contact with. Ozone at a certain concentration is an effective deodorizer as well as a powerful bactericide.
Because of its composition ozone is also considered a pollutant itself and at very high concentration is very unhealthy. This is the reason why ozone air purifiers are used mostly at industrial level and are always operated to fumigate areas or rooms without people inside.
The life of an ozone molecule is incredibly short due to its molecular instability. As soon as the ozone molecules get in contact with other particles, surfaces etc. they immediately react transforming themselves in oxygen. Ozone does not built up in a room.
