What does CADR means and what is it used for?
AHAM (association of Home Appliance Manufacturers) created a standard to test and certify the efficiency against certain pollutant of air purification systems. CADR stands for Clean Air Deliver Rate. 
What does it mean HEPA and what is an HEPA filter?
HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air (filter). It is the filtration technology of choice of most leading air purifier manufacturers.
What is a micron?
The efficiency of air purifier filter is measured in micron. A micron is more or less a dimension that is 100 times smaller than a cat hair. A micron cant be seen without the help of a magnifying device.
What can an air purifier filter actually trap or neutralize?
Depending from the type of filter it uses a conventional air purifier is able to greatly reduce common airborne particles and allergens such as pollens, dust, animal dander etc. also if it uses an activated carbon filter it can be efficient at reducing gasses and odors.

The air is sucked into the unit through a fan between the inlet and outlet of the air purifier a set of stoppage filter is present.
